Balboa Bay Resort Wedding – Newport Beach, CA

The Balboa Bay Resort (formally known as Balboa Bay Club) is a luxurious hotel on harbor in Newport Beach. We have photographed families, corporate events, and weddings there for years! We love the hotel decor and scenic harbor that a Balboa Bay Resort wedding has to offer. Mike and Erika’s cocktail hour and wedding reception was off the boardwalk, in front of the many luxury mega yachts docked at the resort.

St. John Neumann’s Catholic Church Ceremony

We met up with the couple right before the wedding at St. John Neumann’s church in Irvine for a traditional Catholic ceremony. Erika arrived in her black limo ready to get married! The church allowed Brian to shoot from the left front side of the chapel- which almost NEVER happens! These large church ceremonies can be challenging to photograph from the back row so we were very thankful that they allowed us to move up!

Little Corona – Corona Del Mar

The couple wanted to stop by the beach for a few shots but it was high tide that day. We ended up taking them to the top of the hill at Little Corona- the view is always amazing there! They chose this same location for their engagement session as well.

They couldn’t have picked a better location for their reception! Balboa Bay Resort weddings are gorgeous and the staff is always pleasant to work with. We were very excited to run into hotel coordinator, Kate Eaton. We have worked weddings with her over the years at other venues and it was great to reconnect.

The event was hosted by DJ extraordinaire Katar Marcus of Invisible Touch Events. You don’t normally see wedding DJs able to actually sing at a reception, but Katar has an amazing voice! The beautiful floral arrangements and bouquets were designed by the floral department at Gelson’s in Irvine. Stylish Tours made sure the event ran smoothly and took care of the guests all night long without a single issue. It is completely fine. We take our time, let them warm up, and follow their lead. Some kids jump right in, others are more timid and shy. Both are normal and both make sweet memories.
