Gilmore Studios has become one of Orange County’s favorite destination family portrait photographers. Let us help you capture the perfect family portraits. Also serving Mesa, Gilbert, and Scottsdale.
Extended family portraits are typically for groups of 7 or more. We are very experienced with extended family portrait sessions and know how to get great photos with a lot of people involved. We always have two people, one to photograph and the other to get the children's attention. We photograph the entire group, individual families, grandparents with grandkids, and individual photos if desired.
For families traveling to Southern California on vacation, let’s meet up for a family portrait! We have met hundreds of traveling families at hotels, parks, beaches, and even Disneyland! We know the coastal area very well and are happy to help you find the perfect location for your session.

If you’re coming in from out of town and have a small window for your family portrait, we suggest you reserve your session at least 6 weeks in advance. Local families should try to book 3 to 4 weeks in advance if possible. Lates summer and early fall session book very quickly so book in advance to ensure you get the date you want.
We are so fortunate to live in a place where it’s photo season year-round. 🙂 There are so many great locations to photograph your session in. Parks, missions, beaches, urban locations, rustic, etc. You name it – Orange County, CA has something like it. Once you know the style you like – we will help narrow down the exact location that fits your vision.
No problem! We are happy to assist you with your color palette and make sure everyone looks great. We typically advise your color scheme before you leave on vacation so everyone has time to coordinate.
After the session, images will be put online in a private gallery for you in 7-10 business days. You can select which digital images you want in your collection and can also order prints, albums, canvases, and more.
Outdoor family portrait sessions are scheduled either early morning or late afternoon (1-2 hours before sunset) to catch the sun at the most flattering time. Location and season determine the best time for outdoor portraits.
The difference is in the details….
This is the part you don’t always see… but it’s where the magic happens.
The hours spent editing every image by hand.
Adjusting color, light, skin tones — without losing the realness.
Bringing out the magic you might not have noticed in the moment.
📸 Want that kind of attention to detail?
You know where to find me.
Because you can feel their love in this shot.
There’s always one photo from a session that just sticks. It’s not always the most perfect… but it’s the most them. This is one of mine from this session. ❤️
One thing my clients always tell me…
I’m so glad we didn’t wait until things were less hectic.
Because spoiler: life’s always a little hectic, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth remembering!
3 things I wish every parent knew before their session 👇
1 You don’t need to bribe your kids — seriously. I’ve got tricks for that.
2 The best photos usually happen during the chaos.
3 You’ll never regret being in the frame — even if your hair’s not perfect.
My job isn’t just to take good photos — it’s to make the experience feel good, too. Let’s make this fun.
You asked for a sign? This is it! Stop waiting…start remembering. Book your session today
