Recently, I had the honor of photographing a beautiful LDS missionary session at the LDS Newport Beach Temple. The session celebrated a young woman’s commitment to her faith as she prepared to embark on a mission to Montana.

This shoot was filled with a sense of purpose, faith, and excitement for the journey ahead. As a Newport Beach Photographer, it’s always a privilege to capture such meaningful moments at the temple, surrounded by its peaceful architecture and beautiful gardens.

Dressed in a cute neutral toned dress, she held the Montana state flag with pride, symbolizing the place where she will spend the next 18 months of her life in service. We started the session with portraits in front of the temple, capturing the elegance and tranquility of the location. The ivory walls and lush greenery provided a clean and classic look were a perfect background.

As the session continued, we incorporated the Montana flag into a few shots, allowing her to proudly display where she would be serving. These images beautifully showcased both her dedication and the spirit of adventure that comes with embarking on a mission.

How long does a cake smash session really take?

About 45 minutes and here is everything we fit into that time.
We start with portraits first. Clean outfit, no cake, just your baby being adorable. Then we bring in the cake, swap into the smash outfit and let the chaos begin. 🎂

And if you want to keep going, we can do a quick splash session at the end. Some of the biggest smiles of the whole session happen right there.
