We have worked with this sweet girl’s family, Christina and Shaun, since the beginning! First we did their wedding at Tivoli Terrace, then her maternity shots at the beach, then their newborn pictures when baby Rylan arrived. Quality portraits are a priority for them, and we are thrilled they continue to get them done!
For Rylan’s first birthday, they wanted to do a photography session that included a cake smash. Mom had two ideas for themes, so we decided to do both!
The first was “sophisticated princess” with a theme of pink and gold. We found the perfect bunting, backdrop, and paper flowers, then dressed baby in a pink tutu and pink and gold beads. Rylan even played the part well, touching her pink cake with all the restraint and refinement of royalty (don’t worry—she got plenty messy later!).
Her second shot was circus themed. We had a ball compiling the awesome backdrop, props, and color story for this one. Everything just pops! I also love that we dressed baby girl in blue. It brings out her beautiful eyes, while still looking feminine. And how adorable is her popcorn cake?!
Both cakes were baked by the incredibly talented French’s Cupcake Bakery. They always willing to try whatever kind of crazy cake we request. They haven’t failed yet! Plus, their cakes are as yummy inside as they are out.
