It’s always fun to catch up with our past brides and grooms. We photographed mom and dad’s country wedding a few years ago and have run into them at a few other weddings since then! They recently came into the studio for their 6 Month Old Baby Portrait Session. They wanted a nautical themed session and we had a few props that worked perfectly 🙂 The baby canoe is one of my favorite props! We found this awesome baby prop at Mr. & Mrs. and Co and the water background at Lemondrop.

Teeny Seed baby bibs

We were so excited to hear about their brand new venture called, Teeny Seed. They have created a line of really stylish and cool reversible baby bibs and they are even on Amazon! We made sure to get a few product photos for them.

6 Month Old Baby Portrait Session

When planning your 6 month old baby portrait session, keep in mind that the main objective is your little one sitting up (on their own) If your baby doesn’t sit up at 6 months, give them a couple weeks! Babies all have their own timeline, some kids figure out how to walk early, while others are late bloomers! It’s always a good idea to schedule your session after you’ve seen them try to keep themselves up.

Second… saying goodbye at the airport is hard.
You prepare for it, you know it’s the right thing… but you still miss them more than you expect.
And suddenly, everything reminds you of them.

Turn your body slightly instead of facing the camera straight on.

Shift your weight to one leg, relax your shoulders, and bring your heads a little closer together.

Small adjustments like this make your photos feel more natural immediately.

In my experience, shooting during the first few weeks is ideal. During these early days, babies tend to sleep more and curl up in those naturally cozy positions we all adore in newborn portraits. Make sure to reach out and get on the calendar before the baby is born. We want to have some wiggle room with timing once the little one arrives.

The open environment at Back Bay invites your kids to explore, walk, and twirl safely. I’m there to guide you into natural poses, creating moments that are genuine rather than staged. The golden hour (right before sunset) is the best time for a session at this location.
