Palm Springs, CA – Lindsay and John’s wedding at the breathe-taking Bougainvillea Estate

Lindsay and John’s love story is one of our favorites. From the day they met, to their engagement session on the sand in Laguna Beach! Their wedding day at the Bougainvillea Estate, was extremely hot, but everything turned out perfectly. The estate is characterized by amazing architecture, lush green lawns and we can’t forget the lakes and waterfalls in the front and rear of the property. The nine bedroom home sits on five acres in La Quinta, CA and is 14,000 square feet.

Wedding designers

Their wedding was a total testament of the results a bride and groom can get with professionals like The Events Department, highly respected wedding coordinators in the Palm Springs area. The planner for the day, Peggy Shevlin, literally ensured that everything went as planned and looked perfect at the same time.

The food

The exquisite cuisine was prepared by the amazing chefs from Le Vallauris restaurant. From the mouth-watering appetizers to the main course, these guys have more than 40 years of experience and have earned themselves an excellent reputation in the area. Every time we have worked with them, they always ask us to try all the food, which is totally okay with us.

How hot was it?

The temperature hit a scorching 120 degrees before the wedding even started! Thanks to the advice from the Peggy, the wedding had to be moved indoors. Lindsay and John’s wedding was the first to be held indoors at the home and you would never even notice it was a plan B. Even with this change in the setup, The Events Department ensured that the guests, as well as the bride and groom, enjoyed the beautiful sunset outside!

Videographer

Videography was taken care of by Epoch Productions. We have had the pleasure of working with this husband and wife team a few times now and they are always great.

Floral design by Jensen Floral

In terms of the flowers, Jensen Floral did a beautiful job on the floral arrangements. Even with the extreme heat, the flowers looked perfect throughout the day. The girls loved the bouquets- they were gorgeous!

The girls

The bride’s dress was designed by Watters and wedding shoes by Betsey Johnson. The gorgeous bridesmaid dresses were purchased at Nordstroms.  The hair and makeup was done by Jen Plus Colour.  She had all the girls ready for photos, right on schedule.

Entertainment

DJ Zephyr, with all his long-time expertise, ensured that all those who attended stayed entertained throughout the event. The dance floor stayed packed all night long!

One casual or flowy look - a dress, a relaxed outfit, something you feel easy and comfortable in
One slightly elevated look - still natural, but a little more styled

That gives us variety without making the session feel rushed or stressful. More outfits don’t equal better photos. Two intentional choices are always more than enough.
