Solomon Estate Wedding Photographer | Kristen & Hugo | Palm Springs

Solomon Estate wedding photographer – Palm Springs, CA

When two doctors get married, you know they will want things done efficiently and precisely. We are glad Kristen and Hugo trusted us with the task! We met the couple the day of the wedding, but Peggy, the coordinator/designer for The Events Department had already done a few weddings at the Solomon Estate in Rancho Mirage (near Coachella/Palm Springs) was a dream to work with.  She made sure everything ran smoothly, taking the pressure off the couple. Kristen and Hugo are so sweet and were a pleasure to photograph. You can see the joy in their faces!

The Solomon Estate

The Solomon Estate is exquisite. Both inside and out, the lighting and variety of backdrops are a photographers dream! The 18,000 sq. ft. villa sits on five acres of beautifully landscaped paths, bridges, lawns, and water features.  We are so thankful to be on the list of photographers for the Events Department! In fact, they work with only the best of the best vendors for everything you need to make your wedding day magazine-worthy–from photography and videography, to flowers, to music and DJ services, to catering and desserts. Their weddings never disappoint!

The bride wanted to be sure her guests could enjoy all 5 acres, so Icon Presentations lit everything up! Every tree had lights that changed colors- it felt like Disneyland was in the backyard! If only we could be a Solomon Estate wedding photographer every weekend…

Wedding details and more

The blues and whites Hugo and Kristen chose for their wedding colors played perfectly against the water they were married near, and with all the green surroundings. The groomsmen wore classic grey suits, the bridesmaids had simple navy dresses, and Kristen’s lace dress was a jaw-dropper!

We got a great mix of posed family photos, and beautiful candids that really tell the story of their wedding day. We love that the wedding party had such a great sense of humor and played along for some humorous shots, like the ones in the sunglasses. Deadpool peeking inconspicuously out from the bottom of the gorgeous wedding cake was another can’t miss-humorous touch.

French Cuisine Catering

Le Vallauris French Cuisine in Palm Springs provided the incredible five-star food. We’ve been to a lot of weddings and eaten a lot of “wedding food” and can honestly say this was the best we’ve ever had! We would highly recommend them for taste and aesthetic. We couldn’t stop taking pictures of it, if you couldn’t tell.

If your kids are home for the holidays, do this one thing.

Take new photos together. When kids grow up and move out, opportunities feel smaller. Make the most of the moments you do have. These years are worth remembering.
Do you know the number one reason people regret skipping photos?

Because life looks different faster than they expected. The kids grow, seasons shift, and all of a sudden years have passed. A session is a pause button and a gift to your future self.
Parents ask: What if my child cries with Santa?

It is completely fine. We take our time, let them warm up, and follow their lead. Some kids jump right in, others are more timid and shy. Both are normal and both make sweet memories.
What part of your child’s personality do you wish you could freeze right now?

This age changes faster than we think. I love sessions like this because kids show exactly who they are in the moment, whether that is silliness, shyness, confidence, or curiosity. If you have been wanting to document this season of life, this is your reminder to make it happen.
Is the Santa Experience worth it? Here is what I see every year.

Kids who walk in unsure and leave glowing. Parents who say it felt excited and personal. And families who come back year after year because it becomes a tradition.
