Newport Beach Kids Photography

We’ve been shooting these sisters since they were babies, and love to make each of their sessions look different to reflect their growth and change. We went to the Back Bay for this Newport Beach Kids Photography session. It offers gorgeous light, wide-open spaces, and is a great nature option to beach photos. It’s also an ideal location to catch kids in action as they explore their surroundings together.

The girls wore matching dresses, accessorized differently to avoid being too matched. This is an easy option if you aren’t sure what to have your kids wear. We made sure to get a big smile out of the older sister to show how proud she was of her missing teeth!

Tips and tricks!

In general, it’s best to shoot younger children later in the day, when they’ve had something to eat and a nap (if they’re still young enough to need one). Taking time with your children before their session to look at professional pictures they’ve taken in the past, or through galleries of others photos on our website, and explaining what the process will be like will help prepare them for what to expect. We try to provide the right amount of poses and natural actions so children don’t get overwhelmed. There are so many great locations for Kids photography in Newport Beach!

Parents ask: What if my child cries with Santa?

It is completely fine. We take our time, let them warm up, and follow their lead. Some kids jump right in, others are more timid and shy. Both are normal and both make sweet memories.
