This beautiful day started at the Blue Lantern Inn, just steps away from the Chart House. We found a tiny strip of shade near the hotel that ended up working great for their first look! Next we had all of the family and bridal party meet up to get formal photos out of the way. The bride and groom were a bit concerned about the extra festivities going on by the harbor. From canons randomly firing off at the Tall Ships Festival, to the sounds of the Ohana Music Festival, no one was quite sure how noisy this wedding ceremony might be! We walked over to the Chart House to check it out and like magic, everything got quiet for the ceremony!

From the Couple

How did you guys meet?

We met on an online dating app in 2015! We were both young professionals who had been single for quite some time. Carolyn was getting tired of the dating scene and decided one morning that she would quit dating and delete all of her dating apps. When she logged onto OK Cupid to delete her app, she received a message from a cute guy and thought, “I’ll respond to this guy and this will be my last message ever.” (And it was!) We met the very next day and our lunch date turned into a 12-hour adventure and we have been inseparable since.

In your own words…the proposal!

We went to Maui for Carolyn’s birthday. The morning of her birthday, we went to the beach and packed wine and snacks for a picnic at the bay. The view was amazing and Carolyn stood up on a bench to take a panoramic view photo. As she was concentrating on taking the perfect snapshot, Charles got down one knee and popped out the ring! It was a very spontaneous and unexpected surprise!
