Newborn Twins Photography at Gilmore Studios

Photographing twins is an art in itself. Getting one newborn baby to sleep for their photos is one thing, but getting two babies to cooperate for their portrait session is a whole new world. Next, throw in a couple siblings under 7 years old and wow, we have our work cut out for us! Sounds difficult (and it is) but we love it! Sure, these photos are challenging, but the end result is so rewarding. We get so excited when we get the chance to photograph brand new twins! This little brother and sister arrived just in time for Christmas, too so we just had to do a couple holiday poses, right? Newborn twins photography is the best!

Backdrops and baby props

Since the babies are boy/girl twins, mom and dad wanted to use blues, pinks, and neutral tones. We decided to use the blue/white dot and wood backdrops from Lemondrop Backdrops. The blue and pink wraps and shaggy blankets were found at Custom Photo Props. The Santa beanie was purchased at The Tiny Toppers shop on Etsy. The Christmas twins set was also found at the Etsy shop Smooch Glitz Boutique. We loved the pink, white, and grey beanie from CraftNikki! Headbands were found at 3LoveliesBowtique, and LauraBethCreations.

How do you prepare to say goodbye for two years?

This family has six boys, and one was about to leave for Finland on his mission. They scheduled this session a few weeks before he left, knowing how important it was to have everyone together in one place before such a big change.

These are the photos that hold so much weight later on. Not because everything is perfect, but because everyone is there. If you are heading into a season of transition, this is your reminder to pause and document it.

This one was done at Balboa in the fog, and honestly, it worked perfectly. Soft light, calm energy, and nothing distracting. A great reminder that headshots do not have to be stiff or overly polished to feel professional.
