Orange County maternity photography – Corona Del Mar Beach

We first met Marissa at her brother’s surprise engagement session back in 2013 at this very same beach in Corona Del Mar, CA. They really loved her brother’s photos. They decided to come all the way back for their Orange County maternity photography session! This was a difficult trip since she was so pregnant and it was a seven hour drive to OC. They ended up staying for the weekend for a small vacation before the baby arrived.

Little Corona Beach – Orange County maternity photography

Little Corona Beach has been one of our favorite beaches in Newport Beach since we started our business. We even had our own engagement and wedding photos done here! The beach can get crowded in the summer months, mainly because the sand area is fairly small- especially during high tide.

Interesting facts about Corona Del Mar

Did you know that Corona Del Mar means “crown of the sea” in Spanish? Neither did I! 13K people reside in CDM and it spans all the way from Jamboree Road to Cameo Shores Road. Most people think it’s an independent city but it’s actually part of Newport Beach. Corona Del Mar State Beach attracts the most beach goers, most likely because it’s much bigger and you can park right by the sand. Little Corona requires you to hike down a steep paved path but is well worth the trip.

It is completely fine. We take our time, let them warm up, and follow their lead. Some kids jump right in, others are more timid and shy. Both are normal and both make sweet memories.
