Another great senior portrait photography session is on the books! We had a great time taking these portraits for Kaylee at the Newport Beach Back Bay. We actually photographed her parents wedding, too!

Back Bay Loop Trail

There are so many things to see on the Back Bay Loop Trail, from scenic sights to science and discovery! Here are some of our favorites that your family may enjoy.

  1. Back Bay Science Center at Shellmaker Island – At the BBSC, you can discover and enjoy hands on the ecology of the Newport Bay
  2. Newport Aquatic Center – Want to rent a kayak, take sailing lessons, or much more? Then visit the Newport Aquatic Center for some water fun!
  3. Upper Castaways Park – Upper Castaways Park features some amazing views, paths, and sights of the ocean and the bay.
  4. Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve – Are you looking for a great place to camp with your family? Then the Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve has you covered!

In my experience, shooting during the first few weeks is ideal. During these early days, babies tend to sleep more and curl up in those naturally cozy positions we all adore in newborn portraits. Make sure to reach out and get on the calendar before the baby is born. We want to have some wiggle room with timing once the little one arrives.

The open environment at Back Bay invites your kids to explore, walk, and twirl safely. I’m there to guide you into natural poses, creating moments that are genuine rather than staged. The golden hour (right before sunset) is the best time for a session at this location.
