Twins – 1st Birthday Cake Smash Session!

We were so excited to see Savanah and Dalton back in the studio for their Twins 1st birthday cake smash session! We LOVE when we get the opportunity to work with twins! Mom wanted a simple but cute background with plenty of blues and pinks to represent her adorable twins. We started the session on a clean white background to get some portraits with their awesome new birthday t-shirts! Next we brought out the delicious birthday cakes created by our favorite bakery 🙂 The twins didn’t seem to mind the messy frosting, which always makes for a great 1st birthday cake smash session! We can’t wait to see them again next year for their 2 year old birthday.

All birthday cake smash sets are custom built to the client’s theme or color scheme and include a yummy cake from French’s Cupcake Bakery in Costa Mesa.

How do you prepare to say goodbye for two years?

This family has six boys, and one was about to leave for Finland on his mission. They scheduled this session a few weeks before he left, knowing how important it was to have everyone together in one place before such a big change.

These are the photos that hold so much weight later on. Not because everything is perfect, but because everyone is there. If you are heading into a season of transition, this is your reminder to pause and document it.
